our mission/vision

The mission of the American Leadership Academy Ironwood Band Program, in partnership with the school community, vision of Learn, Lead and Change The World is to offer our students the opportunities to further develop and mature musically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally by providing a wide range of musically related experiences in a productive setting. While at ALA,  students will pursue appropriate goals, recognize their individuality and respect that of others, flourish in a group setting, and assume responsibility for their personal behavior. Throughout the learning process, parents are encouraged to provide the supervision and support necessary for students to achieve success.

Respect: Our teachers, students, staff, and families show respect for one another.

Accountability: We hold students, teachers, and staff accountable for their responsibilities and their actions. Our classrooms and lessons are held accountable to state standards.

MEET OUR DIRECTOR

TOM “Mr. B” BROCCOLO

Tom Broccolo was born and raised in Long Island, New York with his mom, dad and triplet brothers and sisters (2 boys & 1 girl). His family moved to Arizona in 1986 and Tom moved to Tucson where he received his Bachelors of Music in Music Education from The University of Arizona.

In his previous position he created, maintained, and built music departments starting throughout the state of Arizona at Tanque Verde High School, McClintock High School, and ALA West Foothills campus.

Upon his arrival to ALA Ironwood 7-12, Mr. B and his team were able to lead our various Performing Ensembles to great success with our Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and our Warriors Marching Band to become the highest ranked competitive ensemble from an Arizona Charter School.

When he is not teaching, Tom channels his highly energetic lifestyle through composing and arranging music, being a dedicated Arizona sports fan, and a fan of Professional Wrestling.
